Earth Day American Canyon

Visit the Wetlands Edge Trail for a day of discovery & exploration to celebrate Earth Day in American Canyon! Join The American Canyon Community & Parks Foundation for this FREE community celebration of nature in honor of Earth Day. Participate in hands-on activities, explore the wetlands on a community bike ride or tour, volunteer, and learn more about how YOU can help protect our earth!

The event features live entertainment, docent-led observation walks, a community bike ride, an environmental art exhibit, tabling by environmental partner groups, The Outdoor Connection, and hands-on nature exploration for all ages!

9:00 AM – 12:00 PM Volunteer Service Project  – Offered by the City of American Canyon Parks & Recreation 

What better way to celebrate Earth Day than spending the morning volunteering in the Native Plant Garden at Wetlands Edge! Open to participants ages 14+. All gardening materials will be provided. Advanced registration required

9:30 AM Beginning Birding Walk  – Offered by the Napa Solano Audobon Society 

American Canyon’s wetlands are a migratory hot spot. Join us for an observation walk to learn about the birds who live here and frequent the marshland in their migration pattern. Feel free to bring binoculars to enhance your viewing experience. Meet at the Wetlands Edge Trailhead

10:00 AM – 1:00 PM 

Environmental Partner Showcase, Outdoor Connection Trailside Learning Center, pollinator planting opportunities, Stow It Don’t Throw It program, and more.

10:00 AM – Guided Water Reclamation Plant Tour  – Offered by City of American Canyon Environmental Services

This is a roughly 1.5-mile round trip walk on a flat, gravel service. Plan on 90 minutes to complete the walk and plant tour. Meet at the Wetlands Edge Trailhead

11:00 AM – Healthy Soils Presentation  – Presentation by the UC Master Gardners of Napa County

A 30-minute presentation about healthy soils and turf alternatives. Event Main Stage

12:00 PM – Guided Water Reclamation Plant Tour  – Offered by City of American Canyon Environmental Services

This is a roughly 1.5-mile round trip walk on a flat, gravel service. Plan on 90 minutes to complete the walk and plant tour. Meet at the Wetlands Edge Trailhead

12:30 PM – Environmental Art Bike Ride  – Offered by the Napa Bike Coalition

Meet at the Wetlands Edge Trailhead

Join the Napa County Bicycle Coalition for a FREE family-friendly community bike ride in partnership with American Canyon’s Earth Day celebration on Sunday, April 21! This fun and educational ride will take the group along Wetlands Edge linear path and will include a few stops at key destinations to discuss Earth Day art. Advanced registration is strongly encouraged.  Ride starts and stops at American Canyon Earth Day celebration at Wetlands Edge Park. Group meets at 12:15 PM at the Wetlands Ege Trailhead. The ride time is 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM. All riders must be on bikes without training wheels. All riders under the age 18 must wear a helmet.
