ACCPF focuses on funding in three key areas. Park Improvements, Community Programs and Play for All. These “Initiatives” are based on our mission – ACCPF is dedicated to enhancing parks, programs, and play in our community. View our 2021 Annual Report to learn more.

PARK IMPROVEMENTS
Since 2015 we have donated over $200,000 to improve our parks and trails. These improvements include:

Installed the Outdoor Exercise Equipment at Clarke Ranch

A modern drinking fountain for Wetlands Edge Trailhead

Funding for ½ mile of ADA trail surface for Newell Open Space Trail

15 new picnic tables and park benches

Volunteer Park and Trail days

Park Bench Sponsorship Policy with the City of American Canyon

Installed two Barn Owl Boxes at Wetlands Edge

Created the Play Team teen volunteer group
COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
ACCPF provides unique events of our own and also supports community-wide events put on by the Parks and Recreation department. These include:

Wetlands Volunteer Day, WILD American Canyon, and 4th of July Fireworks Hike events

Fireworks Sponsorship of the City of American Canyon 4th of July celebration

Monthly outdoor-themed hikes, seminars, and events
-
Coordinate and run after school enrichment programs at three elementary schools in American Canyon

Watershed Explorers, an in-class program
-
Watershed Explorers, online Covid response program

Park & Play Covid response community program

Curiosity Kids, online Covid response education program

Curiosity Kids Meetups, safe, in-person outdoor science programs

StoryWalk, Installed American Canyon, and Napa County's first StoryWalk

Partner of the Annual Reindeer Run

PLAY FOR ALL
We fund recreation and camp scholarships and provide FREE outdoor community events to promote access for all. Play for All funding supports:

Planning and running events. Over the past six years, ACCPF has hosted over 30 FREE outdoor events with thousands in attendance

Attendance at community events with FREE nature-based activities for kids
-
Funding for camp and recreation scholarships for over 100 children and seniors each year
-
High School Scholarships: $5,000 in scholarships to graduating high schoolers who exemplify community service
-
Expand scholarship support to include low cost after school enrichment
-
Continue to fund High School scholarships
