Project Timeline
2020: Early Spring
In early Spring 2020, ACCPF began planning a wetlands ecology center in American Canyon. After working with the City of American Canyon to identify a potential site, ACCPF Board approves an effort to develop Ecology Center in American Canyon.
September 2021
In 2021, planning and outreach began. ACCPF met with partners and community groups to better understand community needs. $100,000 in seed funding was raised at An Evening at the Ruins event.
October 2021
City of American Cayon and ACCPF agree to repurpose the site and the ACCPF presents to the Council.
February 2022
In 2022, community engagement began and project leaders embark on robust Communtiy Outreach and project planning efforts. Tabling, surveys, and community events gather input from residents on the project.
May 2022
First Conceptual designs were unveiled.
April 2023
California Coastal Conservancy approves funding for Community Outreach and Project Development.
May 2023
American Canyon City Council approves term sheet.
Project Team holds Community Outreach Meeting.
September 2023
Napa River Ecology Center website launched.
