On September 10, 2016, the American Canyon Community Parks Foundation will host its inaugural fundraising dinner, An Evening at the Ruins.
The event will be held on the site of one of American Canyon’s most picturesque and historical locations. This exciting event will feature entertainment, in addition to live and silent auctions. The proceeds from the event will benefit parks, programs and play in our community.
An Evening at the Ruins promises to be the premier event in American Canyon!
Upon arrival, guests will be given a glass of sparkling wine as they await their escort to the historic site and the evening’s festivities. When guests arrive to the event site, they will be treated to stunning views of Napa County’s rolling hills, in addition to impressive artwork from some of Northern California’s most talented street artists. These fantastic works of art line the walls of the massive structures that once housed The Standard Portland Cement Factory.
As if the beauty of this privately-owned property isn’t enough to delight ACCPF supporters, the cocktail reception will feature a silent auction that includes amazing experiences and adventures. Auction categories range from dining and wine to nature and adventure.
A family style, harvest-themed dinner will follow in the heart of the Ruins before auctioneer extraordinaire, David Sobon, takes the stage. David will share the ACCPF’s mission and unveil proposed projects designed to enrich our community before commencing the live auction.

We are thrilled to have the exclusive opportunity to use the historic Standard Portland Cement Factory Ruins and future site of Watson Ranch (the proposed site for American Canyon’s future Town Center).
This private and storied property has a long history in American Canyon. It dates back to 1903 when the factory was constructed to operate as a clay and limestone quarry for the Standard Portland Cement Factory. In its heyday, the site produced cement for the construction of much of Northern California. It also served as home to many of the company’s mill employees.
Once all the limestone and clay had been recovered from the property, the site was given new life in 1950 when the Basalt Rock Company purchased the plant and expanded. Since the end of its operational life in 1978, the site has laid dormant. It now stands as an aged and historical peak into the origins of our community.
We look forward to celebrating and supporting the future development of American Canyon at the site that gave life to the bustling Napa Junction community (as the city was originally named).
The board of the ACCPF has been hard at work since its inception in March 2015. We are dedicated to enhancing parks, programs and play in our community. As American Canyon grows, the ACCPF is committed to ensuring that our outdoor recreation needs remain an integral part of the development process. We provide financial support for structural enhancements at existing parks and open spaces, as well as advocate for future parks, playgrounds and open spaces.
