ACCPF focuses on funding in three key areas. Park Improvements, Community Programs and Play for All. These “Initiatives” are based on our mission – ACCPF is dedicated to enhancing parks, programs and play in our community. View our 2018 Annual Report to learn more.


Since 2015 we have pledged over $115,000 to improve our parks and trails. These improvements include:

  • A modern drinking fountain for Wetlands Edge Trailhead

  • Funding for ½ mile of ADA trail surface for Newell Open Space Trail

  • 15 new picnic tables and park benches

  • Outdoor Exercise Equipment at Clarke Ranch 

  • Volunteer park and trail days 

Our focus for 2019 is:

  • Working with the City of American Canyon to install the Outdoor Exercise Equipment at Clarke Ranch

  • Finalize a Park Bench Sponsorship Policy with the City of American Canyon

  • Install two Barn Owl Boxes at Wetlands Edge

  • Fund three volunteer park days 

  • Stabilize the historic Newell Preserve Cattle Barn for future use


ACCPF provides unique events of our own and also supports community wide events put on by the Parks and Recreation department. These include:

  • Wetlands Volunteer Day,  WILD American Canyon and 4th of July Fireworks Hike events

  • Fireworks Sponsorship of the City of American Canyon 4th of July celebration

  • Monthly outdoor themed hikes, seminars, and events

  • Coordinate and run after school enrichment programs at three elementary schools in American Canyon

Our focus for 2019 is:

  • Expand after school enrichment programs to reach at least 500 students this year 

  • Expand environmental education programs for students

  • Develop teens adventure program focusing on mental and physical health of high school students

  • Monthly themed hikes at our parks and trails 



We fund recreation and camp scholarships and provide FREE outdoor community events to promote access for all.  Play for All funding supports:

  • Planning and running events. Over the past four years, ACCPF has hosted over 20 FREE outdoor events with thousands in attendance

  • Attendance at community events with FREE nature-based activities for kids

  • Funding for camp and recreation scholarships for nearly 100 children and seniors each year

  • High School Scholarships: $1,000 in scholarships to graduating high schoolers who exemplify community service

Our focus for 2019 is:

  • Expand scholarship support to include low cost after school enrichment

  • Purchase a pedi cab to provide rides for seniors on our Wetlands trails

  • Continue to fund High School scholarships ​
