WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Parent of a City of American Canyon Scholarship Recipient
"The scholarship program has been such a great help! It’s awful for my daughter to be cooped up at home watching TV. Now she’s been able to participate in swim, tennis, and basketball. These programs have allowed her to meet others, learn sports, and be outside. It’s been a motivational help."

David Oro, City of American Canyon Council Member
"In just three short years, ACCPF has risen to be the most impactful community organization in American Canyon. From exciting educational evenings, popular daytime hikes, tireless board members and formidable fundraising abilities, ACCPF makes our community stronger, more active and engaged. I am proud to be a Lifetime Founding Member of such a consequential community non-profit."

Elizabeth Goff, American Canyon High School Teacher, Napa Valley Community College Trustee
"Comprised of dedicated and talented volunteers, ACCPF not only supports our parks, but also builds connections. ACCPF is an excellent example of what happens when people share a vision and work together to achieve it."

Charlotte Chiorelo, ACCPF Founding Member
"Early morning is our favorite time of the day. Walking or bicycling the Wetlands Edge Trail is our favorite activity. When we come back from our walk or bike ride, our favorite place to stop is the water fountain that ACCPF provided. I get to drink from my own bowl close to the ground, while my mom drinks from the people bowl. Three barks for ACCPF."

Megan Dameron
American Canyon Parent
"My family has really enjoyed the educational programs offered by ACCPF! My oldest son participated in the after school music and arts programs and had a blast! Especially at a time when schools have less of a budget for electives and art, having these programs is a blessing! My family and I have also done nature hikes at the wetlands studying birds or observing the rise of the harvest moon. Now that we find ourselves in our new normal with social distancing and schooling at home, ACCPF has come up with creative ways to safely get kids outside with their Park and Play program and provide fun take-home kids with arts and crafts. We are so lucky to have ACCPF here in American Canyon to provide enriching opportunities to get families outside, enjoying nature, and connecting with their community."

"I work and go to school, so my daughter would just be at home. Recreation programs would be something for her to do besides sitting and watching TV. The (scholarship) program was amazing! It enabled me to put my child in swimming and dance; things I otherwise wouldn’t have done as a single parent.”
